Miro was the commander of the first Thal expedition to Spiridon.
Miro was killed on touchdown when their spaceship crashed, leaving Taron, the mission doctor, in command. His associates were forced to abandon their ship and deceased commander to carry out their mission on Spiridon. Some time later, his cobwebbed covered body was discovered at the ship's controls by Jo Grant.
Miro's remains were disintegrated with the Thal spaceship when Daleks discovered the wreck and engulfed it in an explosion with their gunsticks. (TV: Planet of the Daleks)
