Summary Edit

Landing near a creepy alien castle, the Doctor and Rose split up to explore. Rose enters a room filled with mirrors. She is snatched by her evil reflection. She finds herself in another dimension filled of Mirrorlings, creatures waiting for their chance to escape using the mirrors to take on a new life and replace the originals, all of whom are stuck along with Rose - some for as long as fifty years!

As the Mirrorling-Rose prepares to leave in the TARDIS with the Doctor, a band of locals arrive and warn them not to enter the house. The Doctor and Rose are told that for years people have come out of the house, somehow different people. When they realised it had something to do with mirrors, they collected them all and locked them in the house. Breaking the mirrors simply breaks any link and traps the people forever.

When Rose shows no interest in solving the mystery, preferring to leave in the TARDIS, the Doctor knows something is wrong. He returns to the house to find the real Rose. Using himself as bait, he lures the Mirrorlings out of the mirrors, then uses his sonic screwdriver to stop them from fully stepping through. Calling Rose and all the others to escape through the mirrors, the Doctor waits until they have all returned before using the sonic screwdriver to smash the mirrors, which returns the Mirrorlings to their own dimension.

Notes Edit

  • The DWA comic strip adventures were aimed at a younger audience and the artwork and colours were bold and bright, reflecting the tone of the magazine.
  • Self-contained, one-part stories were the norm in the early issues, later expanded to two-parters.
