Nancy was a member of Professor Jones's Wholeweal community in Llanfairfach, Wales.
Biography[]
Nancy was the caregiver and the cook for the group. She was also a qualified medical nurse capable of preparing and administering an intravenous injection. When Professor Jones was infected by the green slime, she helped Jo look after him until they found a cure.
The group called her "Nancy with the laughing face". (TV: The Green Death)
Behind the scenes[]
- Mitzi McKenzie is credited for episode one, though she does not appear. McKenzie's material could not be filmed as she turned out to be unavailable at short notice, and so the scene where Jo first meets Cliff in the lab, which was originally scripted to feature Nancy, was rewritten so Nancy would only be referred to by Jo. The original version of the scene was reinstated for Malcolm Hulke's novelisation of the story.
