Pyne has had a long career in British television, theatre and films. Her television career began in 1963, and she guest-starred in several shows in the 1960s before landing the regular role of "Anna Tanner" in Father, Dear Father and its accompanying film in the early 1970s. Her next regular role came in 1991's Van der Valk. Her television career cooled after this, and her last work was a 2003 appearance on The Bill. Her most famous film role is likely that of Bianca in the Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton version of The Taming of the Shrew.
