Peter Haining (2nd April 1940–19th November 2007) was the author of a number of deluxe format non-fiction books about the history of Doctor Who that were published in the 1980s and early 1990s. His prolific work resulted in the dust jacket for Doctor Who: 25 Glorious Years proclaiming him the "unofficial historian" for Doctor Who.
Haining was also known for editing a number of omnibus editions of genre fiction, such as The Frankenstein Omnibus and The Television Crimebusters Omnibus.
