Radek was an officer in the Fifth Axis. While stationed on the Braxiatel Collection, he was given an assignment by Mushtaq Anson. He was to get friendly with curator Mesa and learn from her the location of the blade of Galandar.
Instead, Radek and Mesa fell in love. When Mesa was killed in a terrorist bombing, Radek, in his anger, shot and killed another Axis soldier. He was imprisoned. While in prison, he was visited by Bernice Summerfield, who offered him the blade of Galandar, saying it had no magical powers. She thought if he turned it over to his superiors, he would be released, but he refused. (PROSE: The Traitors)
