Richard Briers (14 January 1934-17 February 2013) played the Chief Caretaker in the Doctor Who story Paradise Towers and Henry Parker in the Torchwood story A Day in the Death. He is best known for playing Tom Good in the BBC television series The Good Life. He was married to actor Ann Davies from 1956 until his death in 2013.
He also contributed to the charity reference book Behind the Sofa: Celebrity Memories of Doctor Who.
