Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, sometimes referred to as Lord Salisbury, was the British Prime Minister around the time of the turn of the 19th century. He was the last person who held that office to refuse to use 10 Downing Street as his official home. He instead allowed his nephew Arthur Balfour to use it. Balfour later became Prime Minister himself. (AUDIO: Upstairs)

Europe was deeply divided during Cecil's time in office. During meetings with his fellow European leaders, he attempted to resolve matters peacefully. (PROSE: Assassin on the Railroads)

History Edit

Sometime in the 1890s, the Troxil Gamemasters attempted to spark a war in Europe by assassinating Cecil. After he survived an attack in his country house, Cecil approached the Paternoster Gang and asked them to protect him. After an uneventful week, a second attempt on Cecil's life occurred during a train ride to an important meeting in Geneva. A Troxil disguised as a porter served Cecil poisoned wine. While Vastra and Jenny Flint dealt with the Troxil, Strax got the poison out of the Prime Minister's body by giving him mouth-to-mouth. (PROSE: Assassin on the Railroads)

He loaned the Doctor a morning coat for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. (AUDIO: Paper Cuts)

He was still Prime Minister in July 1900. (AUDIO: Upstairs)
