The Rostrows were an advanced humanoid race with bald heads and pointed ears. A Rostrow space mission led by Lahk gathered plant specimens from the planet Birr, but afterwards found their ship unable to take off. Lahk captured the First Doctor, who had just arrived on the planet, and asked him to help repair their ship. He soon discovered that the Rostrows had mistakenly taken some of the native Verdants prisoner, unaware they were intelligent beings. The other Verdants were using a force field to prevent the ship from leaving. The Rostrow engineer Duh and he went to see the Verdants' leader Phlege and make peace with them. After the misunderstanding was resolved, the Rostrows were allowed to leave. (COMIC: Mission for Duh)
A Rostrow was among the aliens stuck on Denossus when it was transported to the Time Vortex by the Vortexians. He would remain trapped for over twenty years until the Vortexians were expelled by the Second Doctor. (COMIC: Land of the Blind)
