Russell Tovey portrayed Titanic midshipman Alonso Frame in the Doctor Who stories Voyage of the Damned and The End of Time. In his book, The Writer's Tale, Russell T Davies suggested that the young actor would be one of his choices to play the Eleventh Doctor and DWM 403 contains an article suggesting Tovey was a strong candidate. The role went to another young actor, Matt Smith. Tovey read NSA: The Doctor Trap for its audio release. He also provided the narration for the sixth series of Doctor Who Confidential.

Tovey took the role of George the werewolf in Toby Whithouse's Being Human and appeared in The Hounds of Baskerville, an episode of Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss' Sherlock series. [1]
