Scott was the husband of Melinda and the father of Peter and Ralphie.
On Christmas Eve 1987, the family left for a visit to Scott's sister-in-law. However, the snow forced them to head back home, and on the way they picked up the Eighth Doctor and invited him to their home for Christmas Eve. Unknown to any of the family, a man named David Gilligan was in their house, attempting to rob them. The Doctor found David and introduced him to the family as his friend "Charley", and the two of them joined the family for dinner. (PROSE: Be Good for Goodness's Sake)
