Sergeant (The Reign of Terror)

A sergeant was part of a group of soldiers surrounding the house in which the First Doctor, Susan Foreman, Barbara Wright, Ian Chesterton, Rouvray and D'Argenson were hiding in France in July 1794. He suggested that the soldiers should search the house, where they found Barbara, Ian and Susan. He thought they might be worth a reward. As they left the house, he set it on fire with a burning torch. (TV: The Reign of Terror)
