Shaun Lyon is an author who has written two short stories for Big Finish's Short Trips range, as well as authored Back To The Vortex: The Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to Doctor Who 2005 and Second Flight: Back to the Vortex II - The Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to Series Two, covering the first two seasons of the new Doctor Who TV series, for Telos Publishing.
Since 1995, Lyon has been the editor of Outpost Gallifrey, the prominent Doctor Who website, and manages the Doctor Who Forum, the largest DW community online. He is also the program director and co-founder of the Los Angeles-based Gallifrey One convention.
On 2 June 2009, Lyon announced that he was closing Outpost Gallifrey, its associated Doctor Who News page, and the Doctor Who Forums. In his announcement he does not cite a specific reason for shutting down these popular websites. He does indicate that his association with the Gallifrey One conventions will continue.[1]
