The Situation Room was a secure area of the of the White House. Located underneath the Oval Office, and directly beneath it, it had no windows. A large, circular table was in the middle of the room. On at least one wall were video screens offering up situation reports from around the world. It was connected by permanently open telephone lines to the National Military Command Center at The Pentagon and the Alternate National Military Command Center at the Raven Rock Mountain facility in Pennsylvania.
