Soldier

A soldier was an individual who fought as part of an organised land-based armed force. Following the Last Great Time War, the Doctor despised soldiers. (TV: The Doctor's Daughter, Into the Dalek, The Caretaker) Despite this, Jenny commented to the Tenth Doctor that he acted like a soldier, (TV: The Doctor's Daughter) with Captain Zhukov noting to the Eleventh Doctor that the Time Lord smelt of one. (TV: Cold War)

The Twelfth Doctor rejected Journey Blue's request to travel with him as she was a soldier. When Journey pointed out that the Doctor didn't like soldiers, he retorted "you're the ones with the guns; you don't have to be liked." (TV: Into the Dalek)

Corakinus, king of the Shadow Kin and leader of the War of the Underneath, was of the opinion that in signing up for war, a soldier signed up to die.
