There's more to indicate that he's WRONG about the post-hypnotic suggestion at least: the only time we see a Silent give an order to anyone, it's to tell Amy to tell the Doctor what he "must not know." Clearly, from Amy's perspective, this can only be his death. 4 episodes in, she hasn't mentioned it, so we can assume the whole post-hypnotic suggestion thing is completely wrong.Are the Silents bad enough for genocide? The Doctor only kills when he's facing absolute evil, like the Daleks. He kills Daleks, we've seen him kill Daleks. But are the Silence really Dalek-bad? He should definitely defeat them, there's little question of that... but should he have massacred them? And don't say he had no other way of beating them, because while that's true, it's irrelevent. It's always been my opinion that if the Doctor were faced with a decision between killing an enemy who didn't quite deserve it and letting them get away, he would let them get away. I mean, we've known this man for forty-eight years, and knowing him as we do, let me ask you this: if he had a gun, and saw someone who had just robbed a convenience store running away, would he shoot them? NO. This is THE DOCTOR we're talking about. The only reason he's never had to make that choice is because it's never been in the script.
 The Silents tried to blow up the ENTIRE UNIVERSE. YES, they are Dalek-bad.

		+	When the Doctor asked Clara how she'd got the TARDIS number, she not only told him she'd got it from the woman, she also quoted the woman about how good the supposed helpline was: "'the best ... in the universe,' she said," was what Clara told him. That means she at least had a conversation with the woman. Furthermore, Clara described her as "the woman in the shop", not "the woman on the phone" or whatever. It'd be a thoroughly unnatural way of speaking for Clara to say what she did unless she '''had''' met the woman & had met her '''in the shop'''. In "Blink" when Billy Shipton was zapped back in time he couldn't contact Sally Sparrow (any earlier then the day he would die) or it would tear a hole in the fabric of space and time. Billy was a fixed point in time, erase him from being zapped and basically everything would fall apart and the Doctor would not get his TARDIS back. One great big paradox. Look back at "Blink and you will see a lot of similarities to "The Angels Take Manhattan", and then everything will seem to make sense. "The Angels Take Manhattan" was a very solid episode and it had a very neat script and I haven't seen any plot holes yet.
 ::::: Firstly, there's nothing to stop the Doctor from using the TARDIS to transport Rory and Amy back to the right time and place when they reach the age that they die (the grave stone only states that they died at 82/87 at such a date. No indication of them what they are doing between 1938 until their deaths). Secondly, if the paradox is specifically in New York Amy and Rory still have the option of physically moving away from New York to get picked up by the TARDIS (and for the return trip when Rory gets to 82 and Amy gets to 87 just drop them off near New York and they can walk/take a cab there).
 ::::: As I've alluded to above I agree with the "disaster" position. Firstly, Blink is a true causal loop, neither Billy or Kathy had the power to change what had, from the perspective of other parties in the loop, already happened they were mortal and if they could have found a way back they may have tried and hang the consequences. But they don't have a TARDIS to go flitting through time and space in or any knowledge of what has occurred.
