Stairway to Heaven

The Stairway to Heaven was an art installation created by Garg Ardoniquist for the Chardaz Museum of Modern Art. It was constructed so as to be self assembling, featuring a race of mentally programmed creatures which would build a staircase using bricks created from mud, before killing themselves, providing the decorative bones used in the piece. The Seventh Doctor attempted to bring its construction to an end, but only succeeded in convincing one of the creatures to rebel against its creator, causing Garg's death but failing to break the cycle.
