New Series section[]

Why was that edit reverted?

Surely not for spoilers, considering the episode being referenced was from 2010. Surely not for being pure speculation, considering the section I added to was all speculation, along the same lines. I don't understand. Agonaga talk to me And sorry about the double post on your talk page, the site was timing out. 02:05, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Like you said, the entire section is more or less pure speculation, therefore it doesn't belong here. If we go by that sections' rules then we would be listing every possible similarity between the Cartmel Masterplan and new series books, TV episodes and comics regardless of whether the author intended it or not. Of course if one of the writers did say they wrote it because of the Masterplan, then sure, it should be added, but since it isn't then we don't. --Revan\Talk 08:17, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

New Adventures and other novels[]

Considering that Peter Darvill-Evans incorporated the "Masterplan" into the Virgin writers' guide, I think it would be appropriate to have a section on this page discussing how it was explored in the Virgin New Adventures. The business with the Other shows up in Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible ("before regeneration, there was reincarnation"), Human Nature ("'Again?' said the child.") and, of course, is more-or-less fully explained in Lungbarrow. Also, Patience in Cold Fusion is probably the Other's wife (and thus, arguably, Susan's grandmother). Are there other references I'm forgetting? And what about the other aspects of the Masterplan? Are there other NAs which it would be useful to note with regard to the Masterplan?

Beyond the NAs, I agree that connecting this to the "lonely god" portrayal of the Doctor in the 21st century version of the series is a bit too speculative, but Lance Parkin plays with the Masterplan pretty blatantly in The Infinity Doctors. What do others think about including these novel references into the article? —Josiah Rowe 04:57, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
