Talk:Condensate Wilderness

From TARDIS Index File, the free Doctor Who reference.

Which is this?

The Condensate Wilderness were mysterious locations near Utopia.

or

The Condensate Wilderness was a mysterious location near Utopia.

The former is more than one location, whilst the latter is one location, the sentence currently stands as "The Condensate Wilderness were a mysterious locations near Utopia."--Tangerineduel 17:43, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

The word wilderness is invariably singular. So, door #2. Is it near Utopia, though? CzechOut | 21:53, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
As I kinda suspected "near" doesn't make sense. The line from the episode Utopia is this: "[Utopia] is far beyond the Condensate Wilderness, out towards the Wildlands and the Dark Matter Reefs." Does this book, which surely must be a secondary source next to the episode itself, actually say, verbatim, that the CW is "near" Utopia? I'm going to change the "article" to reflect the language actually heard on screen. If the book has different information, then that difference can later be noted in italics or a behind the scenes section. Surely this is a case where the televised idea trumps everything else. Rewrite done. I've left the book's information in (italicized) place. However, someone really needs to check the exact language in the book to see what it really says, and make sure the article fairly represents what it says. CzechOut | 13:56, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Same problem at Talk:Darkmatter Reefs. Someone really needs to get their hands on that damn book. CzechOut | 15:00, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Due to the discovery of Darkmatter Reefs page which originally suggested this book said the same thing about the DMR that it did about the CW, I'm parking the reference to that book on this page. When we get a second opinion on what the book says, we can reintegrate a reference to the book into the article. Here's how I used the book, without actually having read it:
Another, possibly apocryphal, source indicated that Utopia was actually near the Wilderness. (REF: Doctor Who: Starships and Spacestations) Perhaps when viewed in astronomic terms, this was true. However, this feeling was clearly not shared by Yana. CzechOut | 15:06, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
