Should scythe be capitalized? I just wanted to make sure before I changed it since I'm not sure how this wiki's policies vary from the ones I edit at more commonly. Hylianhobbit (talk) 03:19, February 17, 2015 (UTC)

There are no hard and fast rules about objects, which are sometimes hard to determine if their names are proper nouns or not, but if something is capitalized in prose or some other verifiable written source, then it will be on the wiki. However, if there is no written form, we have to make our best guess. My practice is based on the fact that sonic screwdriver isn't capitalized, and it's one of the most commonly used objects on this wiki.
That being said, you should never change the capitalization from what the article name gives. If the article name is wrong, then you can use either a {{rename}} or {{Speedy rename}} tag on the article. Non-admins should never move/rename pages, as there are steps involved that non-admins can't do. Shambala108 03:35, February 17, 2015 (UTC)
The Instruments of War is a comic strip in Doctor Who Magazine, so the prose isn't really rendered "mind scythe" or "Mind Scythe", but "MIND SCYTHE" in all-caps. -- Tybort (talk page) 03:51, February 17, 2015 (UTC)
