Canon version[]

Tardis:Canon policy doesn't address the situation that obtains on this DVD release and, to a lesser extent, Enlightenment. Which is the more canonical? The televised version or Fiona Cumming's definitive director's cut? Makes a bit of difference with Planet of Fire as there's actually a new scene and several significant edits. With Enlightenment it's a bit more about the fancy special effects, but here, the cuts and additions have real narrative import. CzechOut | 03:06, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

On Memory Alpha, with the advent of the remastered Original Star Trek recently, we took the approach that both were "canon", and simply noted the changes and conflicts that arose. -- sulfur 11:42, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

Last male companion[]

Why mention the Brigadier in Battlefield, rather than Jamie in Two Doctors? 213.48.107.3 22:22, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

A Girl's Best Friend[]

"Turlough and Kamelion would be the final non-human companions to appear in a televised Doctor Who story, until the guest reappearance of K9 Mark III in TV: School Reunion in 2006." Was K9 Mark III ever the Doctor's companion? He was made as a present for Sarah. Why would his guest appearance in School Reunion make him a companion?165.225.76.55talk to me 10:06, October 19, 2018 (UTC)

Tegan[]

"This is the only televised Fifth Doctor story not to visually contain Tegan Jovanka. The Doctor's reference to Tegan at the beginning of part one means that she was technically a part of every single one of his television stories in some way. To date, the only other companion to have been a part of every televised story of a given Doctor is Rose Tyler, who appeared in every episode during the Ninth Doctor era."

It seems pointless having a note about Tegan for a story she was not in. The comment about her being mentioned making her technically part of every 5th doctor story seems spurious.

It is also wrong. Peri is in every 6th Doctor story except the last two. She is mentioned in Terror of the Vervoids, in the same way that Tegan is mentioned in Planet of Fire. She is seen briefly at the end of The Ultimate Foe, the same way that Tegan is seen briefly at the end of Caves of Androzani. So unless the original author was counting Time and the Rani as a 6th Doctor story, due to Sylvester's wig, Peri fits all of his Tegan criteria, for his bizarre theory.165.225.76.55talk to me 11:50, November 12, 2018 (UTC)
