Continuity[]
Re continuity, another option (which I'm not sure is worth putting into the article, that's why it's here) is that the Doctor had that adventure while Rose was busy or asleep - much like in Bad Night / Good Night where he explains he has plenty other adventures while his companions are fast asleep in the TARDIS.
