The TARDIS Index File divides articles requiring attention into a variety of cattegories contained within the Category:Maintenance Category.
Below is a brief explanation of what each sub-category contains and it's function.

[edit] Category:Articles in need of major additions
- Within this category are all articles which have a {{Gone to Pot}} or {{Cleanup}} banners within the pages, which means they require major work to bring them to the minimum standard.
[edit] Category:Stub
- This is a sub-category within the Articles in need of major additions category, within this are all other articles which require more information (however they generally conform to the Manual of Style).
[edit] Category:Maintenance lists
- This contains lists concerning un-written characters that appear in novels, these lists should be altered when a character is addressed.
[edit] Category:Out of Universe cleanup
- These articles contain within them the {{Oou}} or Out of Universe banners, which mark these articles as containing out of universe information in an in-universe article.

- Tardis:Articles to be merged, moved or deleted; this is a list of articles which may need moving, altering or merging to remove multiple re-directs, bad title spelling etc. You can add your thoughts on this process to the individual article's Talk page.
