Tardis:Quote of the Week policy

From TARDIS Index File, the free Doctor Who reference.

We are currently developing policy and procedures with regards to the Quote of the Week, you can add your thoughts on Tardis talk:Quote of the Week policy

This page is the policy for the Quotes of the Week section on the main page, to nominate a quote for quote of the week see Tardis:Quote of the Week nominations.

Contents

[edit] Quote of the Week policy

Quotes are added to the main page on the first day of each given week, defined as the Monday of each week, the quote will be changed any time on the Monday (defined by GMT - Greenwich Mean Time). The week ends on the Sunday of said week.

Nominate and vote for quotes here: Tardis:Quote of the Week nominations

Please note any users who alter the quote of the week who do not follow the nominate and vote policy will have their additions removed from the main page. (Actions following that to be determined)

A user may only vote for one quote each week. (No multiple votes for quotes)

There should be no more than 10 quotes nominated in a week (as this would probably result in a hung nomination).

A user may nominate more than one quote in a single week, however they may still only vote for one quote.

In the event of a tie in the voting, the quote submitted last in the tie becomes quote of the week for that given week.

[edit] Posting the quote

When posting the quote to the main page, the user's ID (which may be used during the nomination process) does not need to be posted alongside the quote to the main page.

[edit] Sources

What is a valid source for quote dialogue? Generally it can come from anything that is considered a 'valid source' by our canon policy.

Quotes can come (for example) from any of these sources:

TV, Video and Webcasts Stories

Prose

Comics

[edit] Format

The quote should be in talking marks and italics. It should attribute who the quote is from and include the story the quote is from in brackets.
