Real worldStub

The Frame was a 24-issue, award-winning[source needed] fanzine that ran from February 1987 to spring 1993. It was different from most other fanzines in that its articles tended to focus on production personnel — especially designers — who had previously been ignored by the fan community. It was further significant because its writers went on to publish professional Doctor Who works, some of which re-used the content of The Frame.

It was edited and published by David Howe, Mark Stammers and Stephen James Walker who were already influential members of the fan community in 1987. David Howe had previously run the Doctor Who Appreciation Society's Reference Department, Stephen James Walker had edited the fan produced reference work An Adventure in Time and Space and Mark Stammers had been running the Society's Graphics Department.
