The Last Days of Hitler? was a documentary written and directed by Claire Aldwych. It was first broadcast on the Conspiracy Channel on 12 August 1997.

The documentary attempted to piece together mysteries surrounding the final days of the life of Adolf Hitler during the Battle of Berlin. It used old evidence, such as Hugh Trevor-Roper's 1947 report, The Last Days of Hitler, and new evidence released from the Russian archives in the 1990s. Recounting "the accepted version of events", the documentary then posed several unanswered questions:

  • "Why were the Russians so slow to admit Hitler was dead?"
  • "Why were there so many apparent sightings of the Fuhrer after his 'death'?"
  • "Why, if Hitler shot himself in his living quarters, was there blood on the bed in the next room...?"

Privately, Claire was embarrassed by the documentary, and declined the suggestion that she make a follow-up documentary about how UFOs were secretly designed by the Nazis and how the Fourth Reich was in hiding beneath the Earth's crust, which she found way too far-fetched.

In 2001, Claire ended up helping the Sixth Doctor and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart investigate new reported sightings of Hitler. To her surprise, she found that numerous conspiracy theories she had originally dismissed were not so far-fetched after all, and that post-war sightings of Hitler could be attributed to his secret son, Adolf Hitler, Jr..
