The Mists of Time, an audio drama in Big Finish Productions' The Companion Chronicles series, was a digital download exclusive offered to readers of Doctor Who Magazine Issue 411 for a limited time beginning with the magazine's release in mid-August 2009.

The Mists of Time features the Third Doctor and his companion, Jo Grant. When Jo finds herself on a distant planet in the far future, she's greeted by an archeologist, Calder, who is marooned on the deserted world. With no memory of how she arrived, Calder reminds her that they've met before -- and she starts to recall a tale of ghosts and murders and a terrible Time Lord secret...

• The DWM download is considered a promotion for the Big Finish line, so the file begins with an introduction by Nicholas Briggs giving a brief history of the audios.

The Mists of Time was available to readers of Doctor Who Magazine who went to the Big Finish website and entered a code to be found within the magazine.

The digital download offer was only available until 14th October 2009. It is not as yet known whether The Mists of Time will be made available in another format thereafter, or if it will join BFA: Cuddlesome, The Ratings War and others as a DWM-exclusive release.
