- This story takes place during the last episode of TV: The War Machines, after the Doctor defeats WOTAN and before he leaves in the TARDIS. The story contains flashbacks to the Doctor's arrival on Earth in 1963 and his and Susan's life at 76 Totter's Lane.
Continuity Edit
- The Doctor uses the alias 'Doctor John Smith' as identification for renting the junkyard at 76 Totter's Lane (see: Aliases of the Doctor).
- The disappearance of two teachers (implied to be Ian and Barbara) is mentioned.
- A bell is heard tolling deep within the TARDIS when it crash-lands in the junkyard.
- The Doctor mentions Logopolis when asked by Susan about mathematics affecting reality.
- Use of the Zero Room to rest and contemplate is mentioned.
- After defeating WOTAN on 20 July 1966, the Doctor checks to see if the Hand of Omega has been buried in Shoreditch Cemetery as per his instructions in November 1963, only to discover that it has been removed.
