You are exploring the discontinuity index, a place where any details or rumours about unreleased stories are forbidden.
Please discuss only those whole stories which have already been released, and obey our spoiler policy.

This page is for discussing the ways in which The Caretaker doesn't fit well with other DWU narratives. You can also talk about the plot holes that render its own, internal narrative confusing.

Remember, this is a forum, so civil discussion is encouraged. However, please do not sign your posts. Also, keep all posts about the same continuity error under the same bullet point. You can add a new point by typing:

* This is point one.
::This is a counter-argument to point one.
:::This is a counter-argument to the counter-argument above
* This is point two.
::Explanation of point two.
::Further discussion and query of point two.

... and so on.
  • So how does tossing the Skovox Blitzer out of the TARDIS to float in the depths of space and slowly die fit into the Doctor's "I know that you shouldn't be on this planet but I can help you with that" earlier statement, and, in fact, his general ethos? Shouldn't he at least have tried to return it home? Or give it new Orders to be a good flower pot or ATM, at least?
The Blitzer seems to be less a sentient thing and more a machine/weapon. To leave it deactivated and floating harmless in an isolated part of space seems a reasonable course of action. His earlier offer to "help" it was a last ditch attempt to reason with it when his original plan to toss it into the time vortex had been unwittingly foiled by Danny.
Considering the Skovox Blitzer was inactive, the Doctor should have returned it to its original planet/species. It is rather uncaring!
  • Why is there a chess board and pieces right next to a set of double doors?
  • How do the Doctor and Clara escape from the Sand planet at the beginning?
