The Doctor, John and Gillian arrive on present-day Earth in what appears to be somewhere in Eastern Europe. They realise that time is running backwards and they have arrived at the end of their adventure. The only way for the travellers to be reunited with the TARDIS is to retrace events of which they have no knowledge that will lead them to the story's beginning.
to be added
- This story is told in reverse. The same anti-chronological plot construction would later be employed in the comic story Room with a Deja View.
- It is never confirmed where on Earth the story is set, but it appears to be somewhere in Eastern Europe.
- If the story is read backwards, i.e. starting from the final panel of Issue 715 and working backwards, ending with the first panel of Issue 713, it will be found that the underlying events of the plot (about which the Doctor and his grandchildren know nothing) are actually very simple.
