Todd was one of the contestants on Audience Shares, competing to star in his own docu-drama. He distinguished himself with long-running sexual tension, which he never acted on. He was one of the last contestants, along with Lucy.
When Beep believed his plan to take over the world had failed, he decided to kill Todd on live television out of spite. The Sixth Doctor had disabled Beep's laser pistol.
