Tony Auger was the visual effects designer on the Doctor Who television story Black Orchid. The serial was his first credited production, although he may have provided uncredited assistance to the production of the K9 and Company television story A Girl's Best Friend.
As of 2011, he is still active in special effects — as his trade has since come to be known. In 2008, he was special effects co-ordinator on the revival of Survivors directed by Andrew Gunn and starring Freema Agyeman, Paterson Joseph, Daniel Ryan, Ronny Jhutti, Julie Graham and Roger Lloyd-Pack. In 2009 he worked on Collision with Paul McGann, Dean Lennox Kelly, Sylvia Syms and Lenora Crichlow.
