UNIT New York City Base

Unified Intelligence Task Force maintained a base in Manhattan skyscraper which served as the main base for the organisation circa 2009.

UNIT originally possessed a New York Liason Office, but in 2005 it underwent major expansion, allowing UNIT quicker and easier access to the United Nations General Assembly. The officer overseeing the expansion was Major Highway. (http://www.unit.org.uk/press/newyork.shtml)
In 2009 the base was a major UNIT hub and carried out experiments like Project Indigo. At the time the base was overseen by Lieutenant-General Sanchez.
Following Earth's removal from normal space, it was a prime target for the Daleks during the War in the Medusa Cascade. Many of the base's personnel were exterminated in this attack, including Sanchez himself. (DW: The Stolen Earth)
It is unknown if UNIT re-housed or re-staffed the base following the destruction of the Daleks.

The facility had a war room and a international co-ordination center housed in the war room. It also had ample scientific facilities to house Project Indigo and other scientific advancements and developments such as the Osterhagen Program. (DW: The Stolen Earth)
