please keep article content in-universe
Edit
your omnipotence, here at this Wiki we keep everything in-universe (i.e. from the persepctive of a person writing in the Doctor Who Universe) with these exceptions:
- Behind the Scenes sections of articles
- Real World articles on stories, actors entries, mearchandising, etc.
a few articles have a mix of out-of-universe and in-universe content (i.e. 1968), but not many.
if you have noticed out-of-universe content in other articles (aside from exceptions above), it doesn't belong. --Stardizzy2 18:05, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Speculation & Mercy Hartigan
Edit
This wikia is not about speculation.
The information in the Mercy Hartigan (with regards to the Master) is not relevant. This wikia's information is presented in the past tense looking back on everything, the Master information has no relevance and requires context to be there, the Mercy Hartigan page should be able to be read in an of itself. --Tangerineduel 06:17, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Source of information
Edit
Where is it stated that the Laser screwdriver "In terms of physical appearence, its casing appeared to be made of gold and platinum in contrast to the plain silver casing of the Doctor's sonic screwdriver."? Additionally "concuss or otherwise kill" where is the evidence of this? Can you cite a source for the Russell T Davies comment. The previous edit of the article was more correct in that it presented the facts in an encyclopaedic manner. --Tangerineduel 06:13, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- The story titles after various bits of information on this wikia such as (TV: An Unearthly Child) designate where the information comes form (footnotes are used in out of universe articles).
- The reasons we need sources is to show where the information comes from, so people can go back view it, see the pages for themselves and follow the line of information throughout the wikia via the sources / wikilinks.
- What the laser screwdriver looks like is dependent on one person's perspective and can't be shared amonst all users unless it is backed up by a source, that way there is no contention over what what something is/is not.
- As for sources, the Wookipedia, Memory Alpha (Star Trek wiki) and the Stargate Wiki all require sources on their pages in a similar manner to this wikia. --Tangerineduel 13:48, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
