Sergeant Valentin Abramov was a soldier in the People's Army. He survived an attack by the Metatraxi in Kafiristan, but thereafter was only able to repeat "насекомое", the Russian word for "insect".
Nikitin took Ace to meet Valentin and the Metatraxi soon attacked again. They armed themselves, but Valentin had to be disarmed before he could shoot himself as he would have rather died than confront the Metatraxi once again. He hid in a cave, but he and Prince Sayf Udeen were killed by ricocheting bullets. (AUDIO: Crime of the Century)
