The Velosians, from the planet Velosia, were a peaceful species.

The Dark Times[]
When the Kotturuh were due to arrive on their planet Velosia for judgement, the Dalek Time Squad approached the Velosians first. They claimed that they would be able to save them, but only the brightest and the best. Those that were taken on the Dalek ship were then harvested, while the rest, oblivious to their comrades' fates, awaited the Kotturuh. (COMIC: Tales of the Dark Times)
After the Dark Times[]
They were saved by the Twelfth Doctor from an invading force. The Doctor took the "four and a bit" invading fleets away from the Velosians' planet and depowered their weapon banks. This, according to the Doctor, would give the Velosians time to prepare to deal with their enemies on their own. (TV: The Girl Who Died)
