In the Unbound Universe, Zerdin was a UNIT soldier stationed in Hong Kong in 1997. While searching Caroline Hill for Ke Le, Zerdin discovered Adam's burnt body. With the Master having swapped clothing with Adam when he'd killed him, Zerdin reported in that he'd found Ke Le. After it was deduced that Ke Le had swapped places with Adam, Colonel Wood ordered Zerdin to return to the monastery. (AUDIO: Sympathy for the Devil)
